Alpe Regina

The cheese Bettelmatt is one of the unique treasures of the Piedmontese pastoral culture. Not only is it produced only in the valleys of Ossola, Formazza, and Devero, which border Switzerland, but it is also produced here by only eight farms. All farms are located at an altitude of around 2000 meters above sea level and together they produce no more than 2000 wheels annually. Gabriele Scilligo and his team carefully graze and manage almost sixty cows. His cheese is full of aromas from the Formazza valley.
